About Me

On New Year's Day, 2010, I set out to turn my procrastinatory habits around. More specifically, I set out to turn my writing hobby into a writing career. It's a long road by any standard. I invite you to join me and/or place bets.*

I am the mother of four kids and I am lucky enough (due to my awesome husband, Magnum) to be able to stay home with them. When I'm not torturing fantastical characters with orbital sanders or chasing children around the house (Hahaha! Not chasing children. Good one.), I enjoy making snuggly stuff with fabric and yarn (aka quilting and crocheting). One day I hope to meld them all into one and write a story about a mother who must defend her children against the vampire apocalypse using nothing but some holy water, an orbital sander, and quilt that once had some garlic aioli spilled on it at a picnic. Or something. I'm still working out the details.

I have written both young adult and adult fiction and have had two of my adult flash fiction pieces published in Daily Bites of Flesh 2011. However, my focus is on young adult fiction with fantastical and speculative elements, because that is what I love the most. (Don't tell the other kids.) I am a member of SCBWI.
