Randawesome Prompt Friday: Hiatus

My kids are all home. I've mentioned this before, probably ad nauseum. They're sucking up all my time the way kids tend to do. As my free time shrinks, so does my writing time. I need my writing time. Something, as they say, has to give.

And I'm afraid that it's going to be the blog. For the first time in two and a half years, it's time for me to take a break.

The hours that I spend writing these posts need to be spent writing other things, at least for a while. Therefore, for the month of July, I won't be posting.

I shall return with great fanfare (or at least a fruity drink in my hand) on August third. And then we shall discuss the writing and the editing and how Magnum helped me put cotton candy pink color in my hair a while back.

In the meantime, wish me luck if you wouldn't mind. I have lots of work to do.

But not before one last...

WEEKLY PROMPT:
Write a short story that begins with the sentence: The collector arrived in August.

Have a wonderful Independence Day, July, summer, etc. and I'll see you in August.

  1. Have a glorius 4th, a month of summer fun with your family ... and productive moments you sneak in for writing. The collector will arrive in August to take away the pennies of your thoughts and cast them before us to shine and scatter and sink into the blog pond. Be safe and well and happy, my friend ... :) Pat

  2. Have a restful and productive July! Look forward to seeing you in August.

The collector came in August. We weren't ready for him and so hadn't picked anyone out. Unfortunately, he took Goldy, my littlest sister. I'll miss her but I'll try to content myself that she'll be immortalized in a collection container forever. We're taking a trip next month to see her!

(Don't know why this came out so macabre. Guess my mind is like that today.)

(Pink hair? I love hair color stories. Just promise me you won't call it DYE, okay?)

    1. I can't make that promise because technically this stuff is vegetable dye. It stains the surface of the hair (or skin' or whatever else you drop it on). Different than hair color. :)

    2. Lol, well if it's vegetable dye....

  7. Yes, see you in August. Enjoy your summer. Just catching up so I missed your Friday post. I did not take my computer with me this weekend and I did not miss it at all. Truly a sign of a summer holiday - no computer.
