I really don't know what's wrong with me. It must be some sort of end-of-hiatus itch, some little whisper that I've been writing too little for too long. Whatever it is, it has led to drastic measures. I've signed up for Camp NaNoWriMo.
I don't know why I keep doing this to myself. I don't even expect to "win," since I'd rather take my time and not end up hoarding words like Sarah Cynthia Sylvia Stout (who would not take the garbage out).
I guess I've been too long without a daily word count goal.
Anyway, today I begin the tale of Trinnie, whose boyfriend's name is still undetermined -- Elias, Calvin, and Mason having come in maddeningly even in the polls. I'm consulting closely with my brandy-spanking-new critique partner, Ashley. Hopefully, she won't run screaming from my neuroses.
In the meantime, here's some nostalgic awesome for you.
WEEKLY PROMPT:
Go to your favorite book site (Amazon, Goodreads, B&N, etc.), and click on the first genre that strikes your fancy. Zoom in on the cover art of the first selection on the list. Write a scene/story based on the art.
How's your June looking?
Have fun with Trinnie and What's-His-Name! Try not to think about November. ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks! I've given up on November. It's just too much to write like that during the holidays.
DeleteHey, that's me! That's me! I feel all fancy pants, what with being brandy spanking new and all. :)
ReplyDeleteHehe. :)
DeleteI'm going to be there with ya. I was just checking it out since I didn't know it was in June this summer and it seems I signed up. I've never lost at Nano, camp or otherwise and so I guess I'm in. ahahaha I'm doing Chocolate Bootcamp anyway. This will just make me doubly accountable.
ReplyDeleteGotta love the accidental sign-up. :) Good luck!
DeleteMy June is looking pretty busy.
ReplyDeleteIf camp nanowrimo gets us closer to a book by Delia Moran that we can hold in our hot little hands and read - I say, you go girl!
Well, I don't know if it will, but I sure hope so. (Or, y'know, chocolate. ;) )
DeleteMy June looks travel-y, and costly; gas is VERY expensive and we are driving a hellovalot coming up (although, we are also riding a train too). On the other hand, I do get to spend some quality time with all my kids this month. So, it's worth it.
ReplyDeleteNot writing, or even reading, much right now. (That blog hardly counts, when we go avisitin' I barely check in.)
But hey, go you! (Jeez I want that kid named!)
Stupid gas prices. Booooo! Quality time with the kiddos is important, though.
Delete(I want that kid named, too. Argh!)
June, spoon, a big balloon. I'm writing for chocolate in June - although it so happens I haven't started out well, and today does not look much better. I keep falling asleep!
ReplyDeleteI will not win the chocolate and will be reduce to stealing it from you Ms. D.
Alas, Ms. K, I have no chocolate to steal. You're gonna have to write. ;)
