I'm Back on the Juice

It's here, it's here, it's finally here! A working DSL modem has found its way to my house at last!

I specify "working" because the replacement modem that arrived on Wednesday was not. The one that arrived today, however, was working. Which means that, much like Steven Tyler, I'm back in the saddle again. Or, as Magnum puts it, back on the crack.

He's probably right. It's pretty isolated here in the middle of the woods with only a four year old for company. If I want to "talk" to anyone, it must be here on the interwebz. Also, I actually do need it to get work done (or to pursue the possibility of paid work, which, at the moment, is the same thing).

Plus, all my friends live here.*

In short, it's nice to be back. How was your week?

*Okay, not all.

  1. Yay, you're back!

So, this week is ending in a much better place than where it began. I've been bombarded by relentless positivity and gratitude from Julie's blog, which I tried to ignore, but I finally gave in to the happy.

Then, last night, I got an email from some mutual New England friends, wondering if I would be attending the NEC conference in the spring. My first thought, was "Holy Crap, it's time for that again?" My second thought was, "I'm a total loser because I don't have something to submit." BUT my third thought was, "I've got to go write!"

And so I am. And it makes me happy. And I just might go to that conference, to be uplifted, and see my friends who live "here."

Wow, I think I just wrote Monday's post on your blog.

Have a great weekend on the web! (And with your real family, of course.)

My week? You mean that thing that just flashed by when I blinked? Er, busy.

  3. Oh THANKGAWD you're back.
Crack, juice, interwebz, life line, whatEVER! It helps keep us all connected and you get to talk to someone IN ADDITION to a four year old.

(Can I please come over and do the laundry while chatting with your four year old? I miss those conversations SO damn much.)
    Julie

P.S. to Megan, LOL!!! I wore you down, ah ha ha ha ha....

P.P.S. Oh man, I am SO going to the coast now to find me a Panera!

  4. @Megan, Yay for the happy! You'll have to let me know if you come back. I don't think I'll be making it to that conference this year (I'm thinking NESCBWI is more up my alley), but I'd be happy to take a little drive to visit. :)

@Linda, I know the feeling. I hope things slow down for you.

    @Magoo, Thank you, Madame.

@Julie, As I've said, if you can swing the airfare, I'll be happy to save the laundry. I'll even throw in some conversations with the six year old as a bonus (he's hilarious). If you find a Panera, don't forget to eat a bear claw.

  5. So glad you're back. I missed you. Not really cause I didn't have time. I don't have nearly enough time on the net now that my laptop is all but dead. Can't really remedy that until after xmas.
    Thru whining, I promise.
I really am glad you're back. Most of my friends live here, too & you're one of them!

  6. @Judy, You mean you didn't clear your busy schedule in order to miss me? ;)
